Maybe it's because John Mosby (AKA: Gray Ghost) was my all time favorite Civil War hero as a kid, or because I'm a sucker for history and tradition, but Carrie Stevens' pattern has NEVER failed to produce a fish whenever I've used it. It's gotten so bad that I almost flinch when I tie it on, for fear of breaking the streak. I guess you could fish this fly with graphite but the magic is only guaranteed while using an old Winston hollow built 8'6" for 7. |
Orange floss.
