I started fishing at age 3 with my dad on Lake Chickamauga and Watts
Bar. I trout fished a lot in in my early 20's on Tellico, Citico, and Turkey Creeks.
Also fished the Little Tennessee before it was dammed by
Howard Baker and his henchmen.
I moved to North Carolina in the mid-70's and started warm water fishing in earnest.
Fished the (B.A.S.S.) Bassmaster Nationals for 4 years with
modest success and have been fishing for fun for the past 10 years.
I took up trout fishing in earnest again about 4 years ago and have
fished at least 20 different streams in Tennessee and North Carolina, plus 4 or 5
tail waters. I've fished at least 40 different lakes all over
the USA. I'm also an avid surf fisherman and have spent about 2100 hours in the
Hatteras surf over a span of 30 years.
I'm an active tier and tie hundreds per year. I'm also a very active
member of the Coastal Conservation Association and write articles for the North Carolina chapter.
